Overview

The purpose of this short course is to help mid-level leaders develop the mental agility needed for decision advantage and to provide them thinking and leadership tools and frameworks for building and leading agile organizations, reasoning through complex situations, formulating, and shaping strategy at the operational level. It consists of three-days in person. The target audience is O-4s and O-5s as well as commanders/primary staff in operational units.

Dr. Mie Augier

Dr. Augier is a professor in the Departments of Defense Management and Defense Analysis at the Naval Postgraduate School. She is a founding member of the Naval Warfare Studies Institute and is interested in strategy, organizations, leadership, innovation, and how to educate strategic thinkers and learning leaders.

 

Colonel Randy Pugh, USMC(Ret)

Randy Pugh is the Naval Postgraduate School’s Vice Provost for Warfare Studies and Director of NPS’ Naval Warfare Studies Institute. He served 34 years as a U.S. Marine, first as an enlisted Combat Engineer and then as a Signals Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and MAGTF Intelligence Officer. During his career, he served at First, Second, and Third Radio Battalions, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, I and II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Systems Command, Headquarters Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command Europe. As a Lieutenant Colonel, he commanded Second Radio Battalion and, as a Colonel, he commanded Marine Corps Intelligence Schools.
