Overview

The purpose of this course is to develop literacy and familiarity with Navy, DoD, and allied enterprise information systems and emerging technology trends. It presents basic concepts in conventional and military telephony and telecommunication networks; examines DoN implementations from intra-ship, ship-to-ship and long haul; and discusses architectures and components of the GIG including both classified and unclassified networks. It discusses interoperability of diverse network architectures and the impact of mobile platforms on operations.
