Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Understand the three modes of Heat Transfer.
  • Design and analyze the performance of devices that involve conductive heat transfer.
  • Find heat transfer coefficients for forced convection heat transfer using appropriate empirical relationships, as applied to heat transfer in laminar and turbulent flows on external and internal surfaces.
  • Calculate radiative heat transfer between surfaces.
