A Community of Practice (CoP) in Maritime Cybersecurity has been proposed to address the complex issues and provide a collaborative approach specific to maritime cyber vulnerabilities. The complex nature of multiple networks on a ship requires an interdisciplinary approach to articulate potential problems and solutions to cyber security vulnerabilities. The proposed CoP should include formal and informal cyber workforce members to bridge the gap between programmers and developers and those who execute and support cyberspace operations. Within these two groups, formal and informal, would be government personnel and industry partnerships to promote knowledge sharing and mentorship opportunities.
