Defense Cyber Operations in Software Defined Networks
McEachen, II, John C.
This research proposal discusses the development and analysis of defensive cyber operations techniques which leverage the unique capabilities of software defined networks (SDN). This research builds upon previous research sponsored by the Laboratory for Telecommunications Science in the analysis and performance of SDN. Specifically, this research has three objectives:
i. Development of modular network anomaly detection processes for the identification of application-layer denial of service attacks;
ii. Validation of platform independence and network scale associated with methods for detecting dual-homed devices in SDN;
iii. Development of techniques for identifying devices masquerading as network infrastructure within an SDN.Electrical & Computer Engineering
