Overview
The Systems Engineering Management program prepares students to enter technical management positions through an education focused on the systems engineering process. The program is intended to broaden the technical capabilities of students who may have non-technical backgrounds so they can participate in the systems engineering process as productive integrated team members of complex weapon systems development efforts. Students in the program learn the systems engineering process and engineering management tools, techniques and best practices to help them schedule, cost, and analyze program risks. The program is offered via distance learning and is intended for federal civilians, military officers and defense contractors working in support of the Navy and DoD in all system acquisition career fields or related areas. The program includes a two quarter capstone project in which students work on small teams to apply the knowledge gained in the program on problems both relevant and practical to the DoD.
